Bring on 2010!

The end of the year has come and gone, and we are so grateful for all the experiences that 2009 brought to our lives.

The 2nd half of December was spent enjoying a house full of visitors, and guests throughout the many celebrations that the end of the year brings.

Spending time at the park with Grandma "Sasa" (Quincy is contemplating going on the swing in this pic)

On the swings with Alaina

My godson Cody turned 11 this year - I can't believe how big these boys are getting! I hung out with the Castro family, throwing the football around, and eating some cake of course!

Santa Claus comes to our house on Christmas Eve every year - and look at what he brought!

We were celebrating with 20 people, so he made sure everyone was taken care of!

Christmas Eve was a special night filled with family and long-time family friends, sharing a wonderful meal and memories. We asked everyone to share a toast, which brought a lot of laughs & tears!

Christmas morning

Christmas night, we celebrated in Surprise with Solon's side of the family. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and conversation, and here is Quincy with his new toy from Mimi & Papa Meredith - Solon wanted him to have this so badly!

Quincy sportin' his new Iowa Hawkeye gear from Papa Allen

This past Monday night, my moms, sisters, and our kids went to the Phoenix Zoo to take a walk through ZooLights. We had an awesome time checking out the displays covered in 2.5 million Christmas Lights.

Here are some video clips of ZooLights all wrapped into one short movie:

If you listen carefully around the 3:10 mark, you can hear Jango the Talking Giraffe give Kellan and Quincy a shout out!

Another thing I love about the holidays is that my friends who have moved away, come home to spend time with their family and friends. Quincy & I were fortunate to catch up with Denise who has been like a sister to me since the 3rd grade. I love this girl and her family! I am so grateful that after all these years, and with the distance between us, that we are able to pick up right where we left off everytime we see eachother. Love you Niecey!

Merry Christmas from Forrest (who has been recovering quite well from his knee surgery)

Family time!

New Year's Eve was spent at home, with Mom & Tony (who's flight got oversold), Alynsia, Natan, Larel & Kellan, and Marsielle. We enjoyed some board games, and watched the NYE special on TV as we awaited midnight, once the boys went to bed.

Here are the boys in their matching pajamas

The boys looked like Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly in the movie Talladega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby - SHAKE & BAKE!

Oh my gosh! I don't go on your blog for a couple months and Quincy gets ALL GROWN UP! Holy cow, hello Solon! He looks so much like his dadda. And you are ONE. HOT. MAMA! Oh and ps, your Christmas card was returned like it was returned last year, even though I KNOW your address is right. Gotta love the post office.

It must mean we need to get together for a visit :) Ready to see Samantha? :)
